SPOT de VAIRAO

Photo Gallery

A rather long left wave at the Vairao passage of the peninsula. The first section of the wave usually makes a tube followed by a slower running hollow wave.
FAVORABLE WINDS

If the wind is feeble, less than 5 knots, all wind directions are good for surfing. For other conditions please find hereafter the wind directions with specifications.

South Southeast, wind less then 15 knots

  • Very agitated water at the beginning of the wave, calm after the middle.
South-East
  • Depending of the strength of the wind little to strong agitated water at the beginning of the wave, calm after the middle.

SWELLS - GOOD TO SURF

West to West Southwest
  • Wave height in meters = (H1/3 in meters) x L x 1. For the calculation of the wave height, the coefficient "L" depends on the wavelength of the swell. Use 1 for short swell, 1,5 medium swell and 2 for long swell.
  • Wave height between 1 and 3 m good conditions.
  • Comment : good wave with a stretched first section
Southwest to South Southwest
  • Wave height in meters = (H1/3 in meters) x L x 0.8
  • With a wave height between 1 and 4 m, the spot is good.
  • Comment : nice wave.
South to South Southeast
  • Wave height in meters = (H1/3 in meters) x L x 0.6
  • With a wave height between 1 and 4 m, the spot is good.
  • Comment : slightly soft wave.
