massive left tubular wave on almost dry reef.
FAVORABLE WINDS
If the wind is feeble, less than 5
knots, all wind directions are good for surfing. For other
conditions please find hereafter the wind directions with
specifications.
East
- Rather strong land wind as of the
middle of the morning.
East Northeast to Northeast
and North Northeast
North, North Northwest
- Calm water in the
morning, agitated in the afternoon or with gusty
winds.
SWELLS - GOOD TO SURF
Southwest
- Wave height in meters = (H1/3 in
meters) x L x 1.1. For the calculation of the wave
height, the coefficient "L" depends on the wavelength
of the swell. Use 1 for short swell, 1,5 medium swell
and 2 for long swell.
- Wave height between 1 and 5 m good
conditions.
- Comment : extreme waves
South-Soutwest
- Wave height in meters = (H1/3 in
meters) x L x 1.1
- Wave height between 1 and 5 m good
conditions.
- Comment : radical waves
South, South-Southeast
- Wave height in meters =
(H1/3 in meters) x L x 1
- Wave height between 1
and 5 m good conditions.
- Comment : good waves
Southeast
- Wave height in meters =
(H1/3 in meters) x L x 0.8
- Wave height between 1
and 5 m good conditions.
- Comment : good waves
UNFAVORABLE CONDITIONS
West to West Northwest swells create
closing waves which break occasionally to the right.
Those swells are not good to surf and make this spot dangerous
if the waves are higher than halve of the height of the
good waves. Calculation of the height of the waves for
these conditions is: (H1/3 in meters) x L x 0.8
