FAVORABLE WINDS

If the wind is feeble, less than 5 knots, all wind directions are good for surfing. For other conditions please find hereafter the wind directions with specifications.

West North-West to South-West to South South-East to South-East

  • calm water

East South-East to East

  • calm water in the morning, a little agitated afterwards

East North-East to North to West North0-West

  • Wind less or equal to 10 knots : calm water to little agitated
  • Wind stronger than 10 knots : agitated water

SWELLS - GOOD TO SURF

North-West to North-East

  • Wave height in meters = (H1/3 in meters) x L x 1. For the calculation of the wave height, the coefficient "L" depends on the wavelength of the swell. Use 1 for short swell, 1,5 medium swell and 2 for long swell.
  • Wave height between 0.5 and 2 m good conditions.

West North-West to West

  • Wave height in meters = (H1/3 in meters) x L x 0.4.
  • With a wave height between 0.5 and 2 m, the spot is good.
  • Comment : waves with lots of current

West South-West to South-West

  • Wave height in meters = (H1/3 in meters) x L x 0.25.
  • With a wave height between 0.5 and 2 m, the spot is good.
  • Comment : waves with lots of current
