Singing and dancing competitions, copra production, pirogue races in Papeete, fruit carrying, javelin throwing, stone lifting, pandan plaiting (hats and baskets), making of traditional dresses, fire walking - just to mention a few of the organized events during this period. Also the resurrection of a traditional celebration at the marae is planned. Kermes at Papeete.
